Austin Confidating is a blog I started as I embark on my confidating journey in the city of Austin.  What is confidating?  It is dating with confidence.  As someone who has always been shy and does not much dating experience, I decided that I had to take on a new attitude on dating.  The term confidating doesn’t only cover dating though.  Confidating is also about building confidence from interacting new people.  This blog will not only be about my experiences, but it will be about any ideas or stories that also apply.  If you have any ideas or stories, send me an email at austinconfidating@gmail.com.

I was inspired to start my confidating journey when someone I dated for a short time briefly introduced me to the seduction community. I found about his involvement in this “self-improvement” community of men through an amusing turn of events.

For those of you not familiar with the seduction community, it is a society of pickup artists. The main purpose of the society is to give men an opportunity to learn how to improve their confidence around women. Many men who join the seduction community are shy and have limited experience with women. I could relate to that, considering that I have always been shy and have limited dating experience.

As I began reading more about the seduction community, it struck me that I could really take the society’s advice and practices and apply them to my own life.  To be clear, I don’t actually want to become a pickup artist, but I do think that the community as a whole has some good ideas.
